The Red River Rifle and Pistol Club was established in January 1966 and met in the basement of the 1st National Bank in Burkburnett, TX. In the words of one of the founding members Jerry Burden, the room was about the size of a phone booth. The founding members were: Jerry McClure, Ted Peirce, Bill Alexander, Pete Negri, W.K. Clayton and Jerry Burden.
The first range was located off of State Hwy 240 and Vaughn Rd. They were forced to move from there due to the sale of the land and were then located in Oklahoma on the Red River behind what was called the Hill Top beer joint. Shortly thereafter they were able to buy 10.4 acres of land referred to as Wild Horse Canon where the range is located today at 2079 Fairway Rd. in Burkburnett, TX. OUR MISSION
Our goal at Red River Rifle & Pistol club is to provide all shooters in Wichita and surrounding counties a safe, family oriented environment.
Our range has 7, 9, 15 and 25 yard targets on the pistol side. On the rifle side we have 25, 50, 100, 200, 300 and 332 yard targets.
Whether you want to sight in a weapon, shoot with your family, friends or simply a place to plink, our range is the place for you.
